A close friend of mine recently sent me an email that sadly described the circumstances of a mutual friend going through a very tough time. Our friend had apparently made some poor choices resulting in pain and suffering for himself and his family. Thankfully, our friend reached out and wanted to talk and try to process this with his lifelong buddies. We have assured him that we are there for him and are trying to work out a time to gather, to talk and to pray for him. My friend concluded the email with the statement, “Man Down!” which really spoke to me.
Today there is probably someone you work with, a colleague or coworker that is going through a major crisis and feels terribly alone. Will you take the lead and gather the troops to attend to this “man down” reaching out to him or her in support and prayer? We will all face a crisis of this sort at some point along the way….count on it. Would you not hope your friends and co-workers rallied around you in your time of need? Pray for the “man down” in your life today.
Then the king said to the man of God, “Intercede with the LORD your God and pray for me that my hand may be restored.” So the man of God interceded with the LORD, and the king’s hand was restored and became as it was before. I Kings 13:6
