Over the weekend, I spent a great deal of time writing personal notes on some year end letters in support of WorkMatters. It was an interesting experience as well as a great opportunity to think about some folks that I have not seen in a long time. As I would look at a letter and see the name, I would be engulfed with memories, most of which were simply incredible. I found myself thinking about how these various people had been such a blessing to my life. It seemed that for the most part, I only remembered the good stuff and most of the bad or difficult times were forgotten or didn’t really matter anymore.
God has placed people in our lives for a specific purpose. This time of year is a great opportunity to write notes (Christmas Cards?) to those who have meant something to you along the way. It will be an incredible blessing when you stop and realize how many people have passed through your life and how much you appreciate them.
There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. John 15:13
Lord, what an amazing blessing it is when we stop to think about the many people that we have known over the years and the good times we have shared. Let us take a moment this year to thank you for each one with gladness and thanksgiving, experiencing the gift of joy that comes from our many friends. Amen
