One man pretends to be rich, yet has nothing; another pretends to be poor, yet has great wealth. A man’s riches may ransom his life, but a poor man hears no threat. Dishonest money dwindles away, but he who gathers money little by little makes it grow. Proverbs 13:7, 8, 11
Three very different messages with one common theme…MONEY!
Hasn’t it been amazing to watch the transformation of our economy and our own financial circumstances? We enjoyed 10+ years of growth in our economy. Not every business and vocation succeeded, but for most people it was nothing but a positive growth curve. Every year we made more money. Even the people that were managing their money prudently, likely got caught up in the “economy of more”.
Hasn’t it been equally amazing to watch the transformation in our lives now! As difficult as this economy continues to be, we are learning incredibly powerful lessons in the “economy of less”. The marketplace continues to reduce costs everywhere it possibly can to survive and prosper. And we, as individuals are learning to live with a different set of priorities, aren’t we? The stuff we thought we couldn’t live without? Turns out we can. And the things we thought were really important? Turns out they often aren’t.
So, as we each battle this economy at home and at work, let’s PRAY TODAY to lean hard into God’s Word for instruction and guidance. Maybe it will open our eyes to blessings we never knew possible.
