Let the wise listen to these proverbs and become even wiser. Let those with understanding receive guidance. Proverbs 1:5 (NLT)
What an appropriate verse to kick off our 31 Days of Proverbs and Prayer! Solomon, the author of Proverbs, is said to have been the wisest man that ever lived. Let’s see what he can teach us.
There is no shortage of knowledge in our world today. Information floods us from every angle. Television, our pc’s, our cell phone’s, talk radio, and now Twitter and Facebook have taken knowledge to a new level.
But what do we do with knowledge? How do we use it to live a more fulfilling life, especially at work. I heard it said recently that “wisdom is understanding how to use knowledge”. That works for me.
Father, knowledge is abundent. The wisdom to know what to do with that knowledge is not. Will you open our eyes for the next 31 days and show us wisdom. Use these proverbs to teach us practical guidance for effective living. Amen
I am very excited about learing how I can integrate the wisdom that is found in proverbs into my work life.
I really like your comment that “wisdom is understanding how to use knowledge.”
Thanks David to you and all the staff at Workmatters for all of your hard work.

In a meeting yesterday, Howard Butt defined wisdom as “purposeful use of talents, knowledge and intelligence.” He also said we sometimes can’t recognize wisdom except over the course of an entire lifetime.
Certainly, I would consider him to have found a deep kind of wisdom that I’ve not often seen.
